Last week I went to Club CoD in Club Ziggo. Activision held a private event, a LAN party to celebrate the new DLC for Call of Duty Black Ops 2! Way too cool that I was invited. Too bad I didn’t have my camera with me, so sorry about the lack of photos. There were a ton of xboxes, screens, a host that hosted the streaming part & an open bar! Yeaaah!
It was my first time at a game-event.. Was pretty fun to see a lot of faces I read articles from everyday. For example: the guys from GameKings (you see Martin & Skate from GK in the photo), InsideGamer, Fariko, Gamer.nl and PU.nl were there. They had an online tournament with there community. So if you couldn’t be there but you still want to watch how they gamed, check out their websites, there you can find the stream. It was pretty fun to watch, but I also played a little tournament!
There were a couple of teams, and we ended up second! So proud. Was MVP a couple of times so kicked some ass! :-) Was exciting to play LAN, never did that at a real tournament, only just for fun with friends. We won t-shirts and got a download code for the new DLC (too bad I already have the season pass ;-) And I have to say I love the new DLC! I’m so happy they included Firing Range, one of my favorite CoD maps of all time. I haven’t done the Zombie map – Mob of the Dead a lot but it’s quite interesting with all the new features.

My favorite character. This is a though one. There are quite a lot of characters I fell in love with after a while. When I think about my favorites; Kirby, John (from Red Dead Redemption), Tiny Tina (Borderlands 2) but if I really have to choose one it is GLaDOS (Genetic Lifeform and Disc Operating System) from Portal & Portal 2. GLaDOS is so incredible, I fell in love with her attitude. She’s just so evil, but made me laugh and cry (of joy) a lot.
In Portal you’re the main protagonist (Chell) who has to do ‘tests for science’. The tests are run by GLaDOS. GlaDOS has such dark humor and is always trolling Chell. Her monotone voice and dry sense of humor is done so well. You hate her from the beginning, as she always makes sick jokes about you. She gives fucked up suprises and promises things that never happen.
Some of my favorite GLaDOS quotes:
“Well done. Here come the test results: “You are a horrible person.” That’s what it says: a horrible person. We weren’t even testing for that.”
“There was even going to be a party for you. A big party that all your friends were invited to. I even invited your best friend the companion cube. Of course he couldn’t come because you murdered him. All your other friends couldn’t come either because you don’t have any other friends because of how unlikable you are.”
Here are some awesome quotes of GLaDOS – and her voice. :-)

I came across this fun 30 day video game challenge on Instagram. It seemed nice to put it here on my blog because here I’ve more the opportunity to explain my choices. Let’s see if I can do this! They are 30 days, 30 questions. A fun way to look back at the games I’ve played. There are some spicy questions, but I think it’s a nice way to introduce a bit of my taste in terms of gaming.
Let’s start with day 1! The first video games I ever played and I can remember, I think, are the Lemmings and Anthill. Both games were in MS-DOS, when I really was still a youngster. The Lemmings – Little guys who spawn in a level and you had to guide them safely to the exit. I remember that there were a number of commands that you could give them. Sometimes they had to dig holes, build stairs, you name it. I was always a bit sad when I had to sacrifice some in order to save the rest.
Anthill – Was a simple game, where you had to catch ants and eggs. You’d to watch out for the red ants, they bite! I remember it as a game I didn’t like that much. It was frustrating and not much fun.
I actually have found a video on YouTube where you can watch a bit of the Lemmings gameplay (3hours!).

Midtown madness was the first racing game that I’ve played. I think I was 9 years old. I drove around Chicago for hours. My favorite car was the VW beetle that had such a cute flower in the dashboard when you drove with the in-car view. It often took really long before the buildings were loaded, but the graphics and gameplay of the game were (at that time) good and fun!
Here is an overview of the topics for the rest of the month!
Day 1 – Very first video game.
Day 2 – Your favorite character.
Day 3 – A game that is underrated.
Day 4 – Your guilty pleasure game.
Day 5 – Game character you feel you are most like (or wish you were).
Day 6 – Most annoying character.
Day 7 – Favorite game couple.
Day 8 – Best soundtrack.
Day 9 – Saddest game scene.
Day 10 – Best gameplay.

Day 13 – A game you’ve played more than five times.
Day 14 – Current (or most recent) gaming wallpaper.
Day 15 – Post a screenshot from the game you’re playing right now.
Day 16 – Game with the best cut scenes.
Day 17 – Favorite antagonist.
Day 18 – Favorite protagonist.
Day 19 – Picture of a game setting you wish you lived in.
Day 20 – Favorite genre.
Day 21 – Game with the best story.
Day 22 – A game sequel which disappointed you.
Day 23 – Game you think had the best graphics or art style.
Day 24 – Favorite classic game.
Day 25 – A game you plan on playing.
Day 26 – Best voice acting.
Day 27 – Most epic scene ever.
Day 28 – Favorite game developer.
Day 29 – A game you thought you wouldn’t like, but ended up loving.
Day 30 – Your favorite game of all time

Last week I’ve found my old NES (Nintendo Entertainment System) at my parents house. So cool! I still have to find a lot of games (probably somewhere in a box) like Kirby, Mario 3 … but I already found Ducktales, Darkwing duck and Mario/Duck hunt. So much fun! It’s crazy but the NES is still working. I got it as a present from my nephews when I was 5 years old. This is where my gaming addiction started ;-)
Came across this cool video made by Anthony Veloso!

Isn’t it a mess? I’m such a chaotic person as you can see in this pic. I try to keep everything organised in my Borderlands2 loot chest and little organza bags. In the pic you see me modifing a new controller. The transparant package with little things in it are LED’s, I solder them inside a controller with a soldering iron that I’m holding in the photo. I’ve got them in a lot of different colours and I love to play and try out weird and funny combinations as you can see in the photos below. I’m really enjoying modding/customising controllers so far! This week I’ll be getting a lot more stuff to work with and better gear (a helping hand with magnifying glass to make soldering easier) - and I’ve got some awesome news to announce, but that’s a secret for now!

Three days before Christmas I went to Paris for some christmas shopping! I’ve been to Paris before, but never around christmas time. It was such a magical environment. All streets and stores were decorated with christmas lights and we’ve been to a lot of christmas stalls. Our hotel was around the corner of the huge awesome store “Galeries Lafayette” that has the most amazing christmas windows. Too bad I haven’t taken photos of it. They also have the largest shoe department in the world. 34,000 square feet full of woman’s shoes.. they cover more than 150 brands! Still wonder how it’s possible that I didn’t find the boots I wanted. ;-)
Left: An old antique store, right: appartements in the centre of Paris. They’re all so beautiful! Love the details of the balcony.
“Rue St. Honoré” is one of my favorite streets in Paris. It’s such a luxurious and fashionable street in the centre of Paris. Here you find all kinds of stores, from ZARA to Chanel. When you visit St Honoré make sure to check out Colette. It’s a lovely boutique with amazing stuff.
Arc de Triomphe du Carrousel, Jardin des Tuileries & the Eiffeltower sparkling at night!
The Eiffeltower! This photo doesn’t do it justice. It’s soooo huge!
Crêpe. I bet no one in the world can make such delicious Crêpes as they do in Paris. I love une Crêpe naturel avec sucre. :-)
Too bad I haven’t took more photos. It was such a magical experience to be there with Christmas. I wanted that for years! And finally it came true <3 I’ll be going to Paris again in April/May and I’ll make sure to take a lot pictures. Let me know if you have any recommendations!

Oh my, finally el33ta now has a banner! Don’t you just love these illustrations? They are made by a lovely Swedish girl, Elin, from CupCakeKaos! I saw her drawings and fell in love! She has such a cool style and asked her if she could make a drawing for el33ta.com and she did! This is the result. Isn’t it amazing? I can’t thank her enough!
Yeay, new controller done. Combined chrome gold with transparent thumbsticks & underside. The lights look a bit pink/orange but they are red. You can use this goldy as a mirror. lol!
Thought it would be fun to post made a video of it too. Don’t forget to watch it in HD!
It isn’t the typical xbox controller with Iron Man colours you find now a days. Most of them are red with gold buttons and black or red thumbsticks, but I like to make them a bit different. Hmm thinking about which combi I should make next! Any suggestions? I get a lot of requests if I can make some customs! Just mail me: info@el33ta.com

I’ve been wanting a bunny for quite some time. I think they’re sooo cute and fluffy.. And yeay, I have one! Meet Monster, my cute little bunny. On the photo’s he’s 8 weeks and so small, he could fit in one hand. He’s a bit larger now, but still fit in two hands.. Way too cute! It’s a special breed, the Netherland Dwarf rabbit in the colour black otter.
I literally can’t stop staring at him! I’ll shoot a video of him soon!

Hope everyone had a fabolous NYE! I was spending new years eve at a party of a friend of mine in Amsterdam! He just moved in to a lovely house with a big rooftop. The view was amazing, you could see so much of the city! It was the first time that I used my new camera for filming, and unfortunately I forgot my tripod, so it’s wobbly. Also it rained hard, but luckily you still can see a bit of the view we had last night. The firework was sooo amazing!

My dad learned me soldering years ago and we did it just for fun, ’till I burned my hand. I still have a little scar on my left hand, finally after years it’s almost gone. Weeks ago I saw a photo of an awesome modded controller for the Xbox. You can also customize PS3 controllers, but I don’t play the PS3 as much as the Xbox.. And I couldn’t help but wonder how difficult it was to mod it by myself.
I purchased some stuff and took my controller and some LED lights to my dad. I finally conquered my fear of solder and he helped me to solder everything! Too bad I don’t have photos of the work in progress, but here is the result.
Isn’t it amazing? I’m really happy how it turned out. There are blue LED lights in the abxy buttons, and left thumbstick. A white one in the right thumbstick, and a couple in the home button. There are also pink and purple lights in the ring of lights. A lot of people on InstaGram liked the photo and asked me if I’m going to mod some more controllers, and I decided I will! I’ll be getting a lot of lights, shells & controllers to make/mod kickass xbox controllers!
Let me know if you like them, and which colours shells/buttons/lights combination would you like to have?

I hope you have a wonderful christmas eve&day with your loved ones. Have many laughs, love, memories, warmth and music.
This year I’m spending it with my family. We already unwrapped presents and had a delicious dinner. Too bad there isn’t snow this year! Santa Claus spoiled me with many gifts, I’ll post some photos of them later. Now it’s time to enjoy the cozy evening and make an awesome wodka-shake in my new smoothie-maker.
Merry Christmas!
